July 6 Birthday

Sunday’s birthday boy is Pastor Neal Maxwell:

That’s my God! If you are like me there have been many times when God has sent me on an adventure that I wasn’t sure I wanted to go. But I made myself available and it is amazing what God can do with anyone who makes themselves available to Him. He has created each of us for the time we are here but we have to take that leap of faith just like the prophets of old and say – Here I am God, use me. Have a great day in the Lord’s house!!

July 5 Birthday

Saturday’s birthday boy is the man who brought us the thoughts of a little boy named Calvin, Bill Watterson:

“That's the whole problem with science. You've got a bunch of empiricists trying to describe things of unimaginable wonder.”

I couldn’t agree more. People who try to explain everything drive me nuts. Why can’t we just know there are things that exist that we are to admire and not try to explain them? One of Watterson’s other quotes that you can just hear coming from the lips of Calvin is:

“If people sat outside and looked at the stars each night, I'll bet they'd live a lot differently.”  

Tonight make an appointment with your Creator to just sit and watch this amazing universe H has created. Your life will never be the same. If you want a good place to begin, try reading Psalm 8 or 104. Have a great weekend all!

Independence Day here in the states. So here are some great quotes about what this day means to US.

It’s been a while since I shared some funny and since it is Dave Barry’s birthday, here we go:

July 2 Birthday

Wednesday’s birthday boy is Wendy’s founder Dave Thomas:

To go along with yesterday’s quote this one gets to the basics of what it takes to succeed in the world. It was the same 100 years ago and it will be the same 100 years from now. The harder you work, the luckier you will be. I pray that today you will find something in your life that is worth working on and that means something to you. I am not talking just about your employment but maybe it’s a hobby or outside passion. Whatever you want to success at give it your all!

Tuesday’s birthday boy is “Famous Amos” Wally Amos:

It is really that simple. Everything that is an obstacle in our lives is only there because we believe it is there. The stories throughout history of those we consider great were usually no smarter than you or stronger than you they were only more persistent as they pushed past the obstacles in their lives and made things happen.
